Only a hour flight away from Las Vegas we visit frequently, sometimes once a month. I'll be sharing our trip reports, tips on making the most of your stay in Vegas, reviews of restaurants and shows we have seen, along with my thoughts related to our favorite place to get away from it all.

Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar's Palace

I dined with a group of 9 at the new Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar's Palace on Tuesday, October 2nd a few weeks after their Grand Opening and was quite happy to discover it's currently living up to the hype. There was a huge line of customers waiting to pay and be seated, however our group had 2 Diamond members among them, Laurie and Manette so we were able to get in very quickly.  Also due to how busy they are and I don't see them not being busy in the future if they continue to serve high quality food for a buffet, it's difficult to get large parties seated at the same table and we had to break up our group into 2 tables that were in the same room but not next to each other.
The nine glassed in show kitchens are clean with friendly staff working in them. However the evening we ate there the service to clean up our table as we left to get more food was very slow at times.
Almost everything I tried that evening was good and currently better quality then the Wynn, Bellagio and Wicked Spoon Buffets on the strip. I also ate at Wynn's Buffet for lunch this trip and it's really gone downhill from the last time I ate there. Of course like Wicked Spoon the Bacchanal Buffet might be they start out great and have the quality lowered, so keep in mind my opinion is based on the first few weeks they are open when they are trying to get good reviews and impress people.
To see the food better click on the photos to enlarge them!
Like Wicked Spoon a lot of food items are served in their separate dishes so you don't have to spoon food onto your plate.
The plate above with the red and white squares is watermelon and feta cheese and is quite good if you like the two.
The quality of the shrimp and crab legs is excellent at the moment. I didn't have to ask to have my crab legs heated as when I was looking at them the server behind the glass asked if I wanted steam crab and then served me some they had just heated.

The dish on the right is shrimp and grits which was very tasty. The soup on the left was the lobster bisque with bacon and it was delicious. The portion though was a bit large and my friend Boots was able to have them put it in a smaller container that the server still garnish just like the large one and it was the perfect size for tasting.
The top left is a chocolate soufflé they also had vanilla. Unfortunately mine was a little dry because it had been sitting for a few minutes before being served to me. However Laurie later had one that they just made and it was very moist. Timing is everything with soufflés!
For now it's my opinion their selection of desserts are the best on the strip with the most variety with the exception there are few sugar free desserts. Above is the made to order crepe station.
Above is the delicious crepe they made for me with nutella inside with raspberries and whip cream, raspberries and a drizzle of nutella on top.
The following photos are taken from the dessert station.

The rest of the photos are from the various 9 show Kitchens!

Would I return to the Bacchanal Buffet in the future? I would love to return and eat there again if the quality stays the same as I experienced this time, though to avoid the lines I would try to only eat there when with a Diamond member or above. Is it worth standing in line with if you don't have a Diamond member or above with you, at this time if the quality continues to stay at this high level for a buffet I would say yes!

  6. Great post Diana! I was happy to see it and your timing was perfect because I'll be there next week! I think we will do a very early dinner with hopes of smaller lines unless they have slots that parallel the line, then I won't mind the wait. ol

  7. Thanks Gongoman and Shamus. Shamus can't wait to see your photos!

DP, a early dinner might work. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Good luck on your trip!

  8. Thanks for another great trip report. These help me pass the time between trips that can often seem to be an eternity. I will be going again in December and plant to visit Baccanal, this preview was awesome! Your photos made my mouth water. Thanks again for all you do in bringing us along in your adventures.

  9. Enjoyed the tour, what about the price per person do you remember?

  10. Anja, the pricing for this buffet has already changed several times so I don't want to confuse people and put down the wrong price. It was about $35 dollars when I went and I used my total reward comps to pay for it. However, I've heard that it might have gone up so best to check their website for pricing or call.

  11. Love your blog! Great information. I have a couple of questions. When you play the slots, do you always play the max? And do you find the high dollar slots pay out better than the penny slots?

  12. Hi tadancer,

No, I don't always play Max especially on some of the newer slots where I'm just trying to get a feel for the game and see what the bonuses are like. On the dollar and five dollar slots I seldom play max bet unless the max bet is under $15.

Statistically the percentages on $1 and above slots are set higher then pennies, five cents and below, so there's a slight chance of getting a better return. The last 2 years mosts of my jackpots have been on the $1 and $5 slots, however if on a unlucky streak it doesn't matter what the slot percentages are set at, nothing will pay out then. :)

Of course bottom line in my opinion is to just play what's entertains you and within your gambling budget for that session as eventually the way slots are set up we eventually lose, if not that session then on a future session. :)

Good luck on your next trip!

  13. Love you're youtube and face book page. You must play alot. Im from the Uk and try go twice a year a spends around $10k how long until I get the free limos?? haha Please keep posting the videos there great. Thanks

  14. Thanks, I'm glad you like my youtube and FB page. I only play in Vegas so I end up usually going on about 5 trips or so a year. :)

I have a few more videos to post this month along with a new Trip Report from December. Next trip is in mid-February so hope to get more slot video wins then. :)
