Only a hour flight away from Las Vegas we visit frequently, sometimes once a month. I'll be sharing our trip reports, tips on making the most of your stay in Vegas, reviews of restaurants and shows we have seen, along with my thoughts related to our favorite place to get away from it all.

Wynn's Country Club Jazz Brunch revisited 2013!

Sunday, February 17th, 2013 and this is my third visit to Wynn's Country Club Jazz Brunch!
My friend Gwen had taken on the task of organizing this brunch for twenty-one of us,  and once again the Jazz Brunch was a delight!
Jane, Jen, Stephanie, Sylvana and Shona and in the photo below Shaunna, Teresa, Liz, Gwen and Gwen's Mom Claudia.
Brian, his wife Sharon, next to her Brian's Mom Tobi and across from her Jane.
Below is Gwen, Liz, Teresa, Shaunna and Katie.
In addition to the buffet you can order as much as you like from the limited brunch menu. The first time I ate at the Jazz brunch the menu had about 5 more items on it including a delicious chicken entree but since July of last year the menu has remained the same as the one below.
Poached eggs with Barbecue Smoked Pork, resting on a bacon cheese muffin with Charred Green Chili Hollandaise Sauce. Delicious!
From the above menu, French Toast Bread Pudding!
For myself I ordered the Shrimp and Grits from the menu and even though I normally dislike grits these were yummy!
Notice that the Jazz Trio was at least for today located behind the buffet serving stations. On previous visits they were at the side of the restaurant across from desserts. We speculated that today they were moved due to the restaurant being full and needing their former area for tables.

Chinese New Year, Vegas Style!

This is part of my upcoming 7 night  trip report in Las Vegas for Valentine's Day with my husband and a couple days later Lowrance's, 60th birthday party celebration!
The first 3 nights of the trip was at Palazzo where after a day of losing I convinced my husband we needed to walk around the Palazzo snake three times for good luck! It did seem to slow down our losses and result in a few wins but I guess we needed to walk around it every day, which we neglected to do!
The last night of my Vegas stay was at Aria and here's the decorations they had near the main entrance where registration is located.
The best display of Chinese New Year, the year of the snake is as in year's past, the Bellagio Conservatory!
There are many things I dislike these days about MGM/M-Life resorts, but the Bellagio Fountains and Conservatory remain two of the outstanding free attractions of Las Vegas for all ages, and Jen, Gwen and I made a special trip to Bellagio to admire the latest, Year of the Snake display.
Jen and Gwen, two fun ladies! While I was having a very unlucky trip Gwen was breaking records for most hand pays during a visit to Vegas!

THE Buffet at Aria 2/20/2013, not the best!

February's trip which was to celebrate Valentine's Day with my husband and then a couple days later to celebrate my friend Lowrance's 60th birthday was a long trip of 7 nights for me. There will be a complete trip report where I'll provide links to some of the sections that I'm doing separately for ease of reading and also finding the information later so it's not buried in a long trip report!
I ate at the newly renovated Aria Buffet for lunch on the last full day of my February Vegas trip.
The price of the buffet at first glance isn't bad at around $20 per person and they have a option for unlimited alcohol for a extra charge,  which I skipped.
After tasting the food I was sorry I didn't buy one of the unlimited drink packages as I'm sure drinking a lot would have made the food taste better.
One of the few things I did like with this buffet was the stuffed bread with cheese and sausage!
The desserts looked a lot better then they taste in my opinion though the cupcake was okay.
The following photos show the wide variety of selections of food available for lunch.
There are stations of seafood, Mexican, salads, desserts, limited breakfast items, meats, breads, etc...
I had no complaints as far as variety of choices.
